Two numbers decide whether a bamboo charger order fits a campaign: the minimum order quantity and the lead time. Both vary by supplier and by how much customisation the order carries. This guide gives the typical ranges for factory-direct orders and explains what moves them.
MOQ
- Catalogue price MOQ: 1,000 units per model is the standard at factory level. Below that the unit price rises because engraving set-up, packaging print runs and QC time are spread over fewer pieces.
- Trial runs: 300 to 500 units are usually possible on stock colours at a higher unit price.
- ODM (new tooling): 2,000 to 3,000 units, because a new housing needs CNC programming, jigs and sometimes a new coil layout.
- Samples: 1 to 10 pieces, with or without your logo.
Lead time
- Samples: 5 to 10 days after payment, plus courier time.
- Production: 15 to 25 days after deposit and approval of the logo proof and sample. Orders above 5,000 units or with colour-box packaging run 25 to 35 days.
- ODM: 30 to 45 days after tooling approval.
- Shipping: 5 to 8 days by air, 30 to 40 days by sea to Europe or North America, plus customs.
What moves the dates
- Logo proof approval. Most delays happen here; send a vector file on day one.
- Packaging. A printed Kraft box is stock; a colour box needs a print run.
- Battery products. UN38.3 and MSDS are ready for stock cells; a custom capacity needs new testing.
- Chinese holidays. Chinese New Year (late January to February) and the early October holiday add two to three weeks.
Planning backwards from an event
For a 1,000-unit order by sea: event date minus 12 weeks is the deposit date. By air: minus 6 weeks. Add one week for sample approval if you have not ordered the model before. Most missed deadlines come from ordering at minus 4 weeks and discovering that the logo file was a JPEG.
