Wireless Charger Certifications: CE, FCC, RoHS and Qi Explained
Edsonsoon · August 23, 2026

Importers of branded chargers are responsible for compliance in their market, even when the factory made the product. These are the certifications that come up on every wireless charger order, what they cover, and the documents to collect before the goods ship.
CE (European Union)
CE marking declares conformity with EU directives. For a wireless charger that means the Radio Equipment Directive (the charging coil is a radio transmitter), the Low Voltage Directive where applicable, and EMC. Ask for the test report and the Declaration of Conformity listing the directives and standards.
UKCA (United Kingdom)
The UK equivalent of CE. The UK continues to recognise CE marking for most goods, but a UKCA declaration is easy to add if the CE testing exists.
FCC (United States)
FCC Part 15 covers radio frequency emissions. Wireless chargers require FCC testing and the FCC ID or Supplier's Declaration of Conformity; power banks without wireless charging only need the general emissions check.
RoHS and REACH
RoHS restricts hazardous substances (lead, cadmium, mercury, certain flame retardants) in electronics. REACH covers chemicals in all products sold in the EU, including the finish on the bamboo. Both are document-based; ask for the test reports.
Qi
Qi is the Wireless Power Consortium standard. "Qi-compatible" means the charger follows the protocol; "Qi-certified" means the specific product passed WPC lab testing and is listed in the public WPC database. Certification costs the factory several thousand dollars per model, so most promotional chargers are compatible rather than certified. If a tender demands certified, budget for it and allow six to eight weeks.
Battery products
Power banks add UN38.3 and MSDS for transport, and in some markets a battery safety standard such as IEC 62133. See our UN38.3 shipping guide.
Document checklist for the importer
- CE or UKCA Declaration of Conformity and test reports.
- FCC report or SDoC.
- RoHS and REACH reports.
- UN38.3 and MSDS for batteries.
- Product photos showing the markings on the housing and packaging.
Edsonsoon supplies CE, FCC and RoHS documentation with every order and can arrange UKCA, PSE, KC and SAA testing for ODM projects. Details on the OEM / ODM page.
