Most charging accessories are moulded from virgin ABS and end their life in landfill. Edsonsoon (Dongguan BF Technology Co., Ltd and Shenzhen Timemate Technology Co., Ltd) took a different route in 2018: build the same wireless chargers, power banks and desk organizers that promotional buyers already order, but in bamboo, cork and wheat straw, from a factory we run ourselves in Dongguan, Guangdong. This is what happens inside it.
1. Bamboo sourcing and drying
We buy Moso bamboo culms at 4 to 6 years of age from plantations in Fujian and Jiangxi, the age at which the fibre density is highest. Culms are split into strips, carbonised or left natural for colour, kiln-dried to 8 to 10 percent moisture, then laminated under pressure into blanks. Lamination is what stops a bamboo housing from warping in a humid office or cracking in a dry one. FSC-sourced bamboo can be specified for corporate buyers who need chain-of-custody paperwork.
2. CNC machining and finishing
Blanks are CNC-machined to the housing shape. The top plate over a wireless coil is held at 3 to 4 mm so the coil sits inside the Qi distance specification; thicker bamboo looks nicer but charges slower, which is why we do not sell "chunky" pads. Parts are sanded in three grits and sealed with a water-based matte finish that keeps the grain visible and passes our 48-hour humidity test.
3. Electronics and Qi testing
Coils, controllers and battery packs are assembled on our own lines. Wireless models use foreign-object detection and NTC temperature sensing; every unit is tested on a Qi reference receiver for 5W, 10W and 15W output before it is closed. Power banks use Grade A lithium polymer cells rated for 500 or more cycles and ship with UN38.3 and MSDS reports.
4. Logo and packaging
Laser engraving is done in-house and is included on production orders. Selected chargers use a backlit glow logo under the charging surface. Standard packaging is a printed Kraft box with paper inserts; colour boxes, sleeves and white-label manuals are available for private-label orders.
5. Quality control and export
100 percent of units pass inline function tests, followed by AQL 1.5 / 2.5 final inspection with photo or video reports sent before balance payment. We ship FOB Shenzhen, EXW Dongguan or DDP, by air, sea or rail, with CE, FCC and RoHS documentation.
